The Magic of Sligo: Walking Beside Valais Blacknose Sheep

The Magic of Sligo: Walking Beside Valais Blacknose Sheep.
Unique family tours in County Sligo, Ireland offer more than just your average excursion. In this picturesque corner of the country, where every day begins with a magical sunrise and the evening is shrouded in mysterious fog, you will find a real adventure for the whole family. Imagine trekking in the Ox Mountains along the crystal clear Loch Tolt, home to rare Arctic char. But this is not the most remarkable thing about our proposal.
While you enjoy panoramic views and immerse yourself in the sounds of nature, your companions will be the black-nosed sheep of Valais. These animals will become not just your accompaniment, but also your assistants in creating a unique atmosphere. Instead of just following a path, you can immerse yourself in a world where every step becomes part of the story.
Nature and Sheep: Explore Sligo’s Beauty on a Valais Blacknose Sheep Walk https://walkingtrips.ie/
When you set off, be prepared for the pace of your walk to be determined by the sheep themselves. If they decide to stop, you too will have to pause and enjoy the moment. The walk will not be too energetic or tiring, but rather a meditative journey where the main goal is to enjoy the nature around you and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The trail you will follow is paved with gravel, making it accessible to all age groups. But don't think this will be a boring route. Along the way you will come across rock formations and heather banks where you can stop to rest and enjoy the views. The mountain trail runs along the lake, making every view mesmerizing and full of natural beauty.
We offer several options for participating in these amazing tours. You can take from 4 to 8 Valais sheep with you, and each sheep will be accompanied by two participants. Children from 8 years old can walk sheep under the supervision of an adult, and from 12 years old they are given the opportunity to do this independently. However, remember that dogs are not allowed on the trail to avoid disturbing the animals and disturbing the harmony of the environment.
The walk lasts two hours and starts 15 km from our farm. The cost of participation is 45 euros for adults and 25 euros for children. We also offer family rates, which make our offer even more attractive. If you would like to arrange a private tour with a minimum of two sheep at a convenient midweek time, please contact us. Prices for such orders start from 75 euros.
