Best friends Jeon Woong-tae (Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall) and Woo Sang-hyuk (Yongin City Hall) are aiming to win a medal together in Paris.

Jeon will compete in the men's individual final of the modern pentathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the Palace of Versailles in Paris, France, at 0:30 a.m. on Nov. 11.

Jeon finished third at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics 파워볼. He became the first South Korean to win a medal at the Games and made history in the sport.

Modern pentathlon is a sport in which one athlete competes in fencing, swimming, horseback riding, athletics, and shooting.

Fencing is the first event to be competed in the ranking round, followed by the other four events in the semifinals and finals.

Jeon Woong-tae finished second in Group B in the semifinals and easily qualified for the final.

First-time Olympic competitor Seo Chang-wan (Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps) finished fifth in his group and will join Jeon in the final to challenge for a medal.

The Laser Run (Athletics + Shooting), which will determine the final position in the pentathlon, kicks off at 2:10 a.m. on the 11th, with the men's high jump final taking place 10 minutes earlier at the Stade de France in Paris.

Woo Sang-hyuk, who is best friends with Jeon Woong-tae, will try to win the first medal in Korean track and field history.

The pair first met in 2018 while preparing for the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games 홀짝게임 and have since forged a friendship that transcends sports.

Woo finished third (2.27m) in qualifying on July 7, raising hopes of a medal.

Three years ago, Woo finished fourth in Tokyo, just missing out on a medal.

At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Shin Yoo-bin "Piyak-yi" will join Lee Eun-hye (Korean Air) and Jeon Ji-hee (Mirae Asset Securities) in going for bronze in the women's table tennis team event against Germany.

With a bronze medal in the mixed doubles earlier in the day, Shin will become the first Korean table tennis "multi-medalist" in 32 years after Kim Taek-soo (men's singles bronze, men's doubles bronze) and Hyun Jung-hwa (women's singles bronze, women's doubles bronze) at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

In taekwondo, Lee Da-bin (Seoul Metropolitan Government) will go for her second consecutive medal in the women's 67kg category after winning silver in Tokyo.
