'Second best in a million years' Benjamin wins men's 400m hurdles in Paris

Levi Benjamin (USA), 27, shook off a "second best ever" finish at the Paris Olympics.

Benjamin won the men's 400-meter hurdles final in 46.46 seconds at the Stade de France on Tuesday (June 10) at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

It was Benjamin's first major individual title after finishing second at the 2019 World Championships in Doha 토토, 2021 Tokyo 2020 and 2022 Eugene, and third at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.

The men's 400m final featured the world record holder Karsten Barholm (NOR), the second fastest man in the world (45.94), Benjamin (46.17) and Alisson dos Santos (BRA), the third fastest man in the world (46.29).

It was Benjamin who won the battle of the century.

Tokyo champion Barholm was second to Benjamin in 47.06.

Santos, the 2022 World Championships gold medalist from Eugene, finished third in 47.26. It was Santos' second consecutive Olympic bronze medal after Tokyo.

After the race, Benjamin told the organizers, 사설토토 "I can't believe I did it. I was so sure of winning five meters before the finish line, and even then I was like, 'Wait, did I really do it? "When everyone said no, I proved it. Today's victory means a lot," she said.

Beatrice Chebet (KEN) completed the women's distance 'double'.

Chebet won the women's 10,000-meter final in 30:43.25, ahead of Nadia Bartocleti (ITA) in 30:43.35.

Chebet, who won her first Olympic gold medal in the 5,000 meters (14:28.56) on Aug. 6, added the 10,000 meters to her resume.

Chebet also had the honor of becoming the first Kenyan to win the women's 10,000 meters, which has been an Olympic event since Seoul 1988.

Bartocletti, who finished fourth in the 5,000 meters, also took silver, becoming the first Italian to win a medal in the event.

Defending champion Sifan Hassan (NED) was third in 30:44.12.

Hassan, who won two bronze medals in the women's 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters, will also compete in the women's marathon on Nov. 11.

Marilady Paulino (Dominican Republic) won the women's 400-meter final in an Olympic record time of 48.17 seconds.

Paulino shaved 0.08 seconds off the 48.25 set by Paris Olympic torchbearer Marie-Josée Perek at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

After finishing second in Tokyo, Paulino struck gold in Paris, becoming the first Dominican athlete to win the women's 400 meters at the Olympics.

Salwa Nasser (Bahrain), who missed the Tokyo Games due to a doping violation, was second in 48.53.

Natalia Kaczmarek (Poland) was third in 48.98.

Jordan Diaz (Spain), a naturalized Cuban who has competed for Spain since this year, took first place in the men's triple jump with a leap of 17.86m.

Tokyo champion Pedro Pizzadro (PORTUGAL) finished just two centimeters behind Diaz in silver with 17.84m.  토토사이트 순위
