Park Joo-ho slaps soccer elders in the face...objective voice for unity in the end

For the development and unity of Korean soccer, division is not the way to go. It's a self-evident fact that everyone knows.

To do so, the knots must be untangled.

Park made waves on his YouTube channel, “Captain Pachuho,” on Aug. 8, when he pointed out the absurdities in the selection process of Hong Myung-bo as the head coach of the national soccer team and the internal situation of the NTF.

At the time, Park said, “The past five months have been a waste. “Even before the meeting, there was a conversation about 'Isn't it better to have a domestic director'. When we suggested a foreign director, there was opposition, and when it came to a domestic director, they just said yes.”

Some members dismissed Park, who had no experience as a leader, saying, 'You've never been a leader, that's not all.

In addition, during the process of organizing the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup North and Central America in Asia in March and June under the interim regime of Hwang Sun-hong and Kim Do-hoon, “they said, ‘Let's vote randomly for the interim coach,’” he said, adding, “Some even tried to become the interim coach themselves for selfish reasons.”

Following Park's remarks, the KFA faced increasing negative attention and criticism from the public, and the association even hinted at a first-of-its-kind legal action against the former national team player, saying that Park “distorted the activities of the power strengthening committee and the process of selecting 안전한 파워볼사이트 the head coach in an arbitrary light.”

Starting with Park, other former national players such as Park Ji-sung, Lee Young-pyo, Lee Dong-guk, Kim Young-kwang, Cho Won-hee, and Koo Ja-cheol have come forward to point out problems with the association's administration and show their support.

Park, who hasn't appeared in public since the YouTube broadcast, attended the K League event and revealed his feelings.

“I decided that I had to talk about the information and issues for the development of Korean soccer,” Park said, explaining why he decided to speak out.

“There should be not only a systematic process, but also fairness and transparency. I think the lack of these things has led to a complicated situation,” he said, refusing to back down from his original position.

“If everything was normal in terms of fairness, transparency, etc., this problem would not have happened in the first place,” said OB Football Chairman Lee Hoe-taek, who is an elder statesman in the soccer world, ”We need to make an objective judgment while watching the future course of action.”

In a recent interview with The Korea Times, Chairman Lee Hoe-taek said, “There is a certain amount of freedom in the process of selecting a coach, but Hong Myung-bo is a leader selected by the Power Enhancement Committee, which is composed of footballers,” and pointed out that “Park Ji-sung, Park Joo-ho, and others are criticizing too much here and there.”

Meanwhile, the KFA said it would withdraw its legal action after Park's public event.
