MAI Raises $25M to Accelerate AI-Powered Performance Marketing for Brands
MAI has secured $25 million in seed funding to expand its AI-based performance marketing platform designed to give brands, especially small and mid-sized ones, access to autonomous ad agents that manage, optimize, and scale campaigns across digital channels.
What MAI Does & Why This Funding Is Significant
MAI’s core proposition is to let brands offload their digital advertising operations to AI agents that continuously optimize bids, creative, targeting, and budgets. This way, marketing leaders don’t have to manually babysit campaigns; they can trust the system to iterate and adjust in real time.
According to early results, MAI’s agents are helping clients drive ~40% more sales and manage millions of dollars in Google Ads spent monthly.
The $25M round was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Gaorong Ventures, UpHonest Capital, and others. MAI says the funds will be used to scale its engineering and product teams and accelerate development of new features and agent models.
What This Means for Brands & the AdTech Space
-
Democratizing enterprise tools: Smaller brands often lack the budget or expertise to run complex ad campaigns. MAI aims to level that playing field.
-
Efficiency & scale: With AI agents in charge, companies can scale campaigns faster, test more creatives or segments, and respond dynamically to performance shifts.
-
Data integration & intelligence: The agents learn from each brand’s product catalog, audience signals, and past performance enabling more tailored optimizations.
-
Competitive pressure: As AI gets better at media buying, brands and agencies will need to adopt or risk being left behind in ROI performance.
