FC 25 Futties Team 4: My Final Chase for Greatness
Hey everyone,
As someone who’s been grinding FC 25 all year long, I wanted to take a moment to share my reflections on Team 4 of the Futties promo, and more importantly, what it feels like as we near the end of the game cycle.
To be honest, I haven't been playing that many matches lately. Most of my time has gone into grinding SBCs and rolling packs. The returns weren’t massive, but that wasn’t really the point. What caught my attention—and probably yours too—was a major change EA seemingly made this week: they might have removed the soft ban on SBC grinding.
Let me explain for those who aren’t familiar: in previous years, if you did too many SBC submissions via the web app in a single day—around 274 to 300—you’d get “soft banned.” Any further submissions would fail. But this week? I saw friends roll 500, even 1000 packs, with zero issues. I even published a poll on my public account and got 500+ responses from people who confirmed they weren’t soft-banned even after heavy SBC grinding.
Is this a bug? A strategic shift by EA to re-engage lapsed players during the final push before FC 26? We don’t know yet. But one thing’s for sure—for the first time in a long time, grinding SBCs felt... fun again. No pressure, no limits. Just pure chance and excitement. Sure, they might tweak pack odds to balance it out, but right now? It’s freedom, and I’m enjoying it.
My Most Wanted Cards from Futties Team 4
1. Jonathan Bamba (aka “Bambam”)
This version is an absolute upgrade—finally, his finishing is elite. With a Hunter chem style, his shooting is nearly maxed out, and the 5-star skill moves make him a dream for anyone who values fluid dribbling and agility. He’s my go-to CAM. After hyping Bamba so many times this year, it felt right to chase his Futties version one last time.
2. Thierry Henry
Let’s be honest—this Futties Henry might not be massively better than the fully evolved versions, but that card art? That face? That 45-degree portrait is a masterpiece. Pure nostalgia. As someone who covered Henry’s evolutions in-depth earlier this year, I can tell you: the 92 balance alone is a major upgrade. This card looks good, plays well, and feels like a collector’s item for any final FC 25 squad.
3. Heung-Min Son
From his early black card to the Centurions version, Son has been a core meta card all year. This Futties card doesn’t dramatically boost stats, but he’s still that lethal striker we all loved at launch. With Son officially announcing his exit from Spurs, this version holds emotional weight—possibly the last Spurs Son card ever. Worth it for the memories.
Top Value Picks (Best Bang for Your Buck)
1. Javier Zanetti
As a full-back, this guy’s a cheat code. Great body type, elite defending traits (like Jockey and Intercept), and even some attacking qualities. For just 50K coins, he’s a steal. Sure, his animations may feel outdated compared to newer full-backs, but as a functional RB? He’s one of the best budget legends in the game.
2. Edwin van der Sar
Another card I picked more out of sentiment than stats. He was the go-to keeper in FIFA 21–23. This year? Less dominant, but still solid. His traits feel a bit outdated (missing Foot Saves and Long Shot Save), but at this price, and with his iconic presence, I had to try him again before FC 25 wraps up.
3. Denzel Dumfries
One of the best power-style RBs you can find. Yes, his price is high (~300K), and he’s got a couple of annoying traits (sliding tackle and weak skill moves), but his in-game presence is incredible. He’s strong, fast, and has great balance in both defense and attack. If you didn’t evolve Maicon or other top RBs, this Futties Dumfries is a worthy late-game solution.
Bonus: Luis Suárez
I had mixed feelings here. His stats are solid, and he got the RW position everyone wanted... but the 3* weak foot and lack of agility left me cold. Still, his card art is beautiful, and for 30K, he’s playable. Just don’t expect him to replicate the dominance of his earlier Flashback version, which I absolutely adored.
Biggest Letdowns
1. Luis Suárez (again)
Yes, I put him in both lists. Why? Because I wanted to love this card. I expected more. That Flashback Suárez gave me a month of amazing live content, and this Futties version feels like a half-hearted farewell. He doesn’t live up to the standard set earlier in the year. Not terrible—just disappointing.
2. Gheorghe Hagi
Man, this one hurt. I really expected EA to redeem Hagi with a strong endgame version. On paper, his stats look cracked—max passing, max vision. But then... no passing traits. No long passes, no incisive passes, nothing. For a player known as the “Architect,” that’s just disrespectful. And to make things worse? He was part of the 10-Win Objective rewards. Yikes.
Final Thoughts
As Futties Team 4 wraps up, we’re entering the final chapter of FC 25. Team 5 will be the last Futties squad before the deep-dive trailer for Ultimate Team in FC 26 drops. And yes—I’ll be there, breaking it all down the moment it goes live.
Whether you’re still playing daily or just logging in to relive memories, I hope you pull a few more cards you love. That’s what it’s all about at this point—chasing that last bit of magic before a new era begins.
Until then, let’s roll packs like there’s no tomorrow.
Let’s go out with a bang.
Let’s roll Futties one last time.
