Part I: The Hermit and Kyovashad

Your journey begins after a series of events in the town of Nevesk, where you are joined by the monk Lorath. A hermit reveals a crucial detail: the demonic blood in your veins is from Lilith, the "Daughter of Hatred" and the creator of Sanctuary. She was once banished, but prophecy foretells her return and suggests she has her own plans, separate from the "Eternal Conflict" between angels and demons. The hermit advises you to travel to the cathedral in Kyovashad for the light's protection.

Part II: Kyovashad - Your First City

Before entering Kyovashad, you must undergo a cleansing ritual, carving your sins into a holy cedar log and throwing it into a brazier.

• City Quests & Activities:

  • Errands: You'll run an errand for Lorath, retrieving an item from a merchant in the city.

  • Side Quests:

    • "Encourage the Troops": Cheer on the city guards to boost their morale, earning renown, gold, and experience.

    • "Clearing the Way": You'll be sent to find a missing monk. You'll encounter a monster ritual and must defeat the enemies, find the injured monk, and deliver the offering to a merchant lord.

    • "Thieves' Den": Help a merchant retrieve his goods from bandits who are extorting him.

Part III: Character Progression

• Skill Tree:

  • Blight: A core Necromancer skill that deals damage and leaves behind a desecrated area.

  • Enhanced Blight: Upgrade this skill to increase its range or boost the damage dealt by you and your minions to enemies within the desecrated area.

• Lilith Altars: Be sure to find and activate these altars to earn Renown and receive various rewards.

• Gear Management:

  • You can sell or salvage gear.

  • Salvaging items with the "unlocks new transmog" tag will unlock new cosmetic appearances.

  • Visit the blacksmith to salvage gear and the jeweler to socket gems.

• Mounts: You will gain access to a mount after completing a specific quest. Mounts are for travel in the open world and cannot be used in town. Note that your skeleton minions will disappear while you are mounted.

Part IV: Main Quest - "A Faint Light"

• Quest Synopsis: In Kyovashad, you learn from a Sister that a knight has reported seeing a demon in the Gale Valley, a description that matches the entity you encountered in Nevesk.

• Objective: Your task is to travel to the Yelesna Mines to investigate the horned woman's trail.

Part V: Lore Insights

• Lilith vs. Inarius: Lilith, the creator of Sanctuary, is a Hell Lord, while the angel Inarius is revered by the Cathedral of Light. However, the monk Lorath believes Inarius wrote himself into the Cathedral's gospel to appear as a heroic savior. Lorath suggests that the return of both Lilith and Inarius would only lead to the world's destruction.

• Prophecy: The game hints at a prophecy regarding the rise of the Demon Lords, the return of Lilith and Inarius, and the end of the world.
