Starting Your Road to Glory Journey

The first step to becoming a five-star recruit is creating your player and selecting your initial path. EA offers four starting archetypes that determine your baseline status as a recruit:

Elite (Five-Star Athlete)

Blue Chip (Four-Star Athlete)

Contributor (Three-Star Athlete)

Underdog (Two-Star Athlete)

Choosing Elite or Blue Chip will give you a head start, increasing your chances of landing at a top-tier school and possibly earning early playing time. Starting as a Contributor or Underdog offers a more challenging route, where you'll either need to prove yourself at a smaller school or ride the bench at a powerhouse program.

Choose Your Position & Archetype

Next, pick your position—there are five to choose from:

Quarterback

Halfback

Wide Receiver

MIKE Linebacker

Cornerback

Each position has several archetypes. For example, quarterbacks can select from:

Pocket Passer – High Power and Accuracy

Dual Threat – Balanced Speed and Arm Strength

Backfield Creator – Emphasis on agility, elusiveness, and creativity

Pure Runner – Prioritizes quickness and running ability

Archetypes also come with unique Physical Abilities that offer gameplay advantages. A Backfield Creator QB,for instance, might receive:

Off Platform – Improved cross-body accuracy

Pull Down – Enhanced ball security

Mobile Deadeye – Better accuracy while on the run

Sleight of Hand – Boosts for play-action and trick plays

Customize Your Player

After locking in your archetype, you'll personalize your player's identity and appearance. Customization categories include:

Player Info – Name,hometown,high school,jersey number,etc.

Appearance – Skin tone,hair,and physique

Gear – Helmet,pads,gloves,cleats,etc.

Style Settings – Animations for throw, run, stance, and carry style depending on position

Once customization is complete, you'll see a summary page with your player's stats, physicals, and chosen path—then it's time to CFB 26 Coins start your high school season.
