FC 25 Wrap-Up & FC 26 Hopes: My Ultimate Team Journey
Part 1: FC 25 TOTW Pink Cards – Hits & Misses
The final Team of the Week (TOTW) FUTTIES Cards event was solid, but not perfect. While the power curve met expectations, I was a little disappointed that some fan-favorite players didn’t make it into the 99/98-rated card pool. EA also rolled out the "Perpetual Engine" mechanic earlier than usual, which made me wonder—how are they going to keep things fresh for the next month? (Full 99-rated squad, maybe?)
My Top 3 Picks
-
Beckenbauer – As a new Icon, his in-game presence finally lives up to his real-life legacy. His FUTTIES Card is a defensive beast, though he still struggles as a CDM.
-
Smolarek – This guy carried my attack when no one else could. A short, stocky striker with insane dribbling? Sign me up! If dribbling gets buffed in FC 26, he’ll be even more OP.
-
Salah – (Yes, I’m a United fan, but hear me out.) His left-footed finesse shots and smooth movement make him the best RW in the game. Sorry, Antony.

Best Bang for Your Buck
-
Toney – At just 13K FC coins, he’s a steal. Five-star weak foot, great traits, and a fun card to use.
-
Bastoni – A 200K FC coins discount compared to his TOTY version? Yes, please. Not quite meta, but a fantastic ball-playing CB.
-
SBC Maradona – Free to complete, but I’m still holding out hope for a 99-rated Pink Card version.

Biggest Letdowns
-
Kaka – How do you mess up an Icon CAM? Poor dribbling stats, awkward chem styles, and useless traits (looking at you, Dead Ball).
-
Recycled Card Pools – The same old cards, terrible pack weight, and lazy evolutions. EA really phoned it in at the end.
Part 2: My FC25 Experience – The Good, The Bad, The Grind
Still, the thrill of packing a top-tier card or making a silver squad work in Weekend League kept me hooked. The power curve was all over the place, but when the gameplay clicked, it was magic.
Part 3: What I Want From FC26
With FC 26 on the horizon, here’s what I’m hoping for:
1. Fairer Player Ratings
Some clubs get overrated players just because of licensing deals (cough EA partners cough). Meanwhile, rising stars like Yamal get underrated. Just give us accurate stats, please!
2. New Icons (And Better Ones!)
15 new Icons are coming—my most anticipated? Marcelo and Ibrahimović. Marcelo’s FUT Birthday card was insane, and Zlatan’s return after his EA feud is hype. Fingers crossed they don’t end up like German Icons (looking at you, Ballack).
3. Evolutions That Actually Matter
This year’s Evolutions started strong but became irrelevant by TOTS. Next year, let us upgrade players multiple times and make early-game evolutions worth the grind.
4. A Smoother Power Curve
FC25’s power spikes were wild—one promo would be broken, the next would be dead. Bring back the FC23/FC24 pacing where upgrades felt natural.
5. Less Grind, More Fun
My simple request: Make it cheaper and less sweaty. No more 50-game SBCs or impossible objectives.
Final Thoughts – See You in FC 26!
FC 25 had its ups and downs, but that’s FUT for you. Thanks for sticking with me this cycle—let’s hope FC 26 brings even bigger improvements.
Catch you all in FC 26. GG’s!
