The optical performance of the sirui nightwalker lens

The sirui nightwalker series movie lenses are characterized by lightweight design and excellent optical performance, mainly including 24mm, 35mm, 55mm focal lengths, all of which use T1.2 large aperture design. The following are the specific manifestations of its optical performance:

Resolution and aperture relationship

16mm T1.2: The center resolution is higher at the maximum aperture, but there is slight aperture erosion at the edges; After shrinking to T2, the image quality significantly improves, reaching its optimal state at T5.6.  ‌

75mm T1.2: The blurring effect is significant at the maximum aperture, the light spot is rounded, and the center sharpness reaches its peak when contracted to T8.  ‌

Virtualization effect

Equipped with 13 (16mm) or 18 (75mm) aperture blades, it can achieve a more rounded spot effect, especially with outstanding background blurring performance at maximum aperture, suitable for shooting portraits and low light scenes.  ‌

Weight and portability

The minimum weight of a single lens is only 510 grams, made of aluminum alloy material, which balances lightweight and durability, making it suitable for mobile shooting.  ‌

Optical defects

Some users have found during testing that there may be slight purple edge phenomenon at the maximum aperture. It is recommended to shrink the aperture appropriately (such as T2 or above) during shooting to optimize the imaging quality.  ‌
