Trekking to Everest Base Camp was a dream come true for me. I had never been so close to the world’s highest mountain. I did the trek in April, and I think it was the perfect time. The sky was blue almost every day, the weather was not too cold, and the views were super clear. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times for this trek. The trail is dry, the weather is stable, and the mountains look amazing.
Each year, more than 50,000 people go trekking in the Everest region. But in spring and autumn, the number is high because those are the best months. I liked spring because the rhododendron flowers were blooming, and the air felt fresh. I walked through small villages, crossed hanging bridges, and saw huge peaks like Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
The trek took me about 13 days. It was hard at times, but I took it slow and drank a lot of water. I stayed in small lodges where the food was warm, and the people were kind. I saw many trekkers like me—some were tired, some were excited, but all were happy to be there.
If you are thinking of trekking to Everest Base Camp, choose spring or autumn. The weather is better, the views are sharp, and the trail feels alive. I came back home with a full heart, strong legs, and a big smile.
